Up to that point, real
estate was a part-time activity. On retiring from the university in early 2008,
he decided to focus on real estate investment full time. Since then, Dale has
pursued training on such subjects as Asset Management, Foreclosures, and Syndication.
He considers continuing education a permanent activity. “Real estate is a
constantly changing area. It’s important to keep up with the latest trends,
terminology, and legislation.”
He has also built up his organization. The team includes property managers, appraisers, real estate brokers, insurance agents, property inspectors, bankers, mortgage brokers and private investors.
Dale’s twenty-three year career in academia has augmented preparation for his current ventures. He graduated from the Rochester Institute Technology (RIT) in Information Technology & Fine Arts and for thirteen years was Assistant Professor at RIT in Information System and Computing and Adjunct Faculty at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) in North Carolina.
While at RIT and CCL, he was a facilitator and the analyst/programmer for artificially intelligent training simulations (RADMIS and COLAB) used to train middle and senior management of Fortune 100 companies in leadership style, decision process, product management, and product development.
He was a pioneer on the internet from its beginning and collaborated with Dr. Eugene Fram on studies on Internet buying behavior in the early 1990s. Together the authored three papers which were the first studies of their kind.
After RIT, Dale spent ten years at the University of Rochester (UofR) in IT where he was a manager of the university’s Web Services and coordinator for over four hundred Web professionals. It was at the UofR that he worked to develop the Higher Education Web Professionals Association, a professional society with more than 700 members. The HighEdWeb board has expressed their appreciation for his work by board resolution and awarding him the first life time membership ever awarded.
Dale is married with two grown children who have families of their own. He is a Board Member and twice past-president of the Monroe County Fair and Expo Center, manager for technology exhibits for the Monroe County Fair including: He is also a Board Member and past-president of the Higher Education Web Professionals Association and President of the New Frontier Society, the regional chapter of the National Space Society. While president for the Fair and Expo Center he oversaw the $3.1 million dollar sale of land. This is as yet his largest real estate transaction to date. The Executive Director and former Monroe County Executive, Lucien Morin have expressed their appreciation for Grady's role in the deal.
